This lesson focuses on the vocabulary of quiet observation: 파악하다 (to grasp a situation), 살피다 (to look around carefully), and 조심스럽게 (cautiously) — the toolkit for navigating a room before you open your mouth.

2. 파악하다 — to grasp / figure out (a situation) 🧠

3. 살피다 — to observe / look around carefully 🔍

주위를 살펴요. = I look around carefully. 표정을 살피며 말했어요. = I spoke while watching their expression. Irregular-feeling but regular contraction: 살피다 → 살펴요 (ㅣ + 어 → 여).

조심스럽게 물어봤어요. = I asked carefully. 조심스럽게 문을 열었어요. = I opened the door carefully. From 조심스럽다 (ㅂ-irregular adjective: 조심스러워요, 조심스러운).
