Online ordering in Korean requires knowing the exact stage you're at. 주문 is the act of ordering. 배송 is the process of shipping. 택배 is the physical parcel or courier. Confusing them leads to awkward customer service conversations — and in Korea, online shopping is a daily activity that everyone talks about.

설레다 makes a natural guest appearance here because Koreans genuinely use it when waiting for packages, and 조절하다 covers all the adjustments you might make before or after ordering.

1. 택배 — parcel, package, courier delivery 📦

택배가 도착했어요 = the package arrived. 택배 기사님 = the courier. 택배를 받다 = to receive a package. 문 앞에 놓아 주세요 = please leave it in front of the door.

2. 주문 — order (the act of ordering) 📋

주문하다 = to order. 주문을 취소하다 = to cancel an order. 주문 번호 = order number. 주문 내역 = order history. ⚠️ 주문하다 ≠ 질문하다 (to ask a question).

3. 배송 — delivery process 🚚

4. 설레다 — to feel fluttery/excited 💓

In online ordering context: 새 물건을 기다리니까 설레요 = I feel excited waiting for the new item. 택배가 오늘 온다고 해서 설렜어요 = I was excited because the package was supposed to come today. Always caused by something good coming.

5. 조절하다 — to adjust, control ⚙️

수량을 조절하다 = to adjust quantity. 배송 시간을 조절하다 = to adjust delivery time. 설정을 조절하다 = to adjust settings. ⚠️ Always needs a controllable target as its object.
