🛠️ How They Work in a Sentence

Pattern 1: space + 을/를 + 환기하다

• 🪟 아침에 침실을 환기했더니 공기가 상쾌해졌어요. (After I ventilated the bedroom in the morning, the air became fresh.)
침실 = bedroom, 공기 = air, 상쾌하다 = to be fresh/refreshing.

Pattern 2: surface/object + 을/를 + 걸레로 닦다

• 🧽 젖은 걸레로 현관 바닥을 닦았어요. (I wiped the entryway floor with a wet rag.)
젖은 = wet, 현관 = entryway, 바닥 = floor.

Pattern 3: feeling word + result/condition verb

• 🕯️ 향초를 켰더니 방 안에 은은한 향이 났어요. (After I lit a scented candle, there was a subtle fragrance in the room.)
향초 = scented candle, 향 = scent/fragrance.

• 🌿 습도를 조절하면 집 안에서 더 쾌적하게 지낼 수 있어요. (If you control the humidity, you can stay more comfortably indoors.)
습도 = humidity, 조절하다 = to control/adjust, 집 안 = inside the home.

🧩 General Formation Rule

• Object + 을/를 + action verb: 방을 환기하다 (to ventilate a room), 창문을 닦다 (to clean a window).

• Tool + 로 + action verb: 걸레로 닦다 (to wipe with a rag), 천으로 닦다 (to wipe with a cloth).

• Modifier + noun: 은은한 향 (a subtle scent), 마른 걸레 (a dry rag), 젖은 걸레 (a wet rag).

• Adverb + verb: 쾌적하게 유지하다 (to maintain pleasantly), 깨끗이 닦다 (to wipe cleanly).

• 환기하다 (to ventilate) vs. 공기를 바꾸다 (to change the air): 환기하다 is the standard, concise verb; 공기를 바꾸다 is more explanatory and casual.
