⚠️ Pitfalls

1. Do not attach it directly to adjectives

Awkward: 바쁠 양으로 일찍 출발했다.
Better: 일찍 도착할 양으로 일찍 출발했다.
The pattern usually needs an intentional action verb.

2. Do not confuse intention with result

합격할 양으로 열심히 공부했다. means the person studied with the intention of passing. It does not guarantee that the person passed.

3. Avoid casual overuse

In daily conversation, -(으)려고 is often more natural:
  • Natural conversation: 주말에 쉬려고 일을 빨리 끝냈어요.
