점점 = "more and more / gradually" — it marks a trend that's already underway and continuing: 점점 늘어나고 있어요 (it's increasing more and more). Add 점점 before a verb to describe a gradual trend: 점점 중요해지고 있어요 (it's becoming increasingly important). It sounds more natural than 더 더 (which isn't standard).

Pitfall: 높아지다 vs. 많아지다

관심이 높아지고 있어요 = interest is growing (using 높다 = high — for levels/intensity). 사람이 많아지고 있어요 = the number of people is growing (using 많다 = many — for quantities). Don't mix them: 관심이 많아지고 있어요 sounds slightly off; 관심이 높아지고 있어요 is the natural phrase.

Grammar Tip: ~아/어지다 for Gradual Change

중요하다 → 중요해지다 = to become important (gradual change). 높다 → 높아지다 = to become higher. 빠르다 → 빨라지다 = to become faster. The ~아/어지다 pattern turns an adjective into "to become [adj]." Combine with 점점 for: 점점 중요해지고 있어요 (it's becoming increasingly important).
