IS #167 โ Introducing Your Project/Brand with Confidence
How to pitch your work, explain your mission, and talk about what makes you different โ in Korean.
Iru Helper Note
In Korean pitch contexts, confidence is balanced with humility. You'll often hear (We're still in the early stages, but...) before a bold claim โ it invites the listener in rather than overwhelming them.
(We're still in the early stages, but our brand aims to change everyday life in Korea.)

What You'll Learn Today
Whether you're presenting at a pitch event, explaining your personal brand to a potential collaborator, or describing a side project, this lesson gives you the Korean language toolkit to introduce your work clearly, confidently, and with personality. These phrases work equally well for startups, creative projects, and personal brands.
Project & Brand Introduction Phrases
Expression | Meaning | Notes |
Our brand is... | Warm intro opener |
This project aims to ~ | Goal statement |
To briefly introduce it... | Modest opener |
It's a service/product for ~ | Target framing |
The core value is ~ | Mission statement |
The target customer is ~ | Audience statement |
What makes us different is ~ | Unique value prop |
We're currently focused on ~ | Focus statement |

Our mission is ~ | Mission declaration |
We're still in early stages, but... | Humble confidence |
๐ก Key pattern: ~์ ๋ชฉํ๋ก ํ๋ค (to aim for ~) and ~๋ฅผ ํตํด ~์ ํ๋ค (to do ~ through ~) are the backbone of any Korean project pitch. Master these two and you can structure most introductions.
Conversations in Action
Conversation 1 โ Pitching a startup at a networking event
(What kind of project are you working on?)

(Who's the target customer?)
(Mainly 20-30s global audience interested in Korean culture. We're still in the early stages, but we're growing a lot.)
๐ Cultural Note โ ๊ฒธ์ (Humility) in Korean Pitches
Unlike American-style pitches that lead with bold claims, Korean pitches often include a layer of ๊ฒธ์ (modesty). (There's still a lot that's lacking, but...) or ์์ ๋ธ๋๋์ง๋ง์ (We're a small brand, but...) is not weakness โ it invites the listener to root for you. The confidence comes through in the specifics that follow, not in the opening claim. This balance of humble framing + specific strength is distinctly Korean.

(We're going to change the world) without context sounds overconfident in Korean settings. Lead with what you do and who it's for first โ then build to the bigger vision.
