Discussing Logistics
Learn to coordinate the practical details of meeting up โ who, where, how, and when โ naturally in Korean.
Iru Helper Note
When coordinating plans in Korean, the key questions are: ์ด๋์ ๋ง๋์? (Where do we meet?), ๋ช ์์ ๋ด์? (What time do we meet?), ์ด๋ป๊ฒ ๊ฐ์? (How are you getting there?), (Are we going separately or together?). The most natural logistics opener is โ "So how shall we handle it?"
(So where shall we meet? I'll be taking Line 2, so the area in front of Hongdae Station is convenient for me.)

What You'll Learn Today
Today you'll learn how to discuss the practical logistics of meeting up in Korean. You'll use ~๋ก ๊ฐ๊ฒ์ (I'll go by ~), ์ด๋์ ๋ง๋ ๊น์? (Where shall we meet?), and (Shall we go separately or together?). These phrases let you coordinate real meetups in Korean without the conversation grinding to a halt over details.

= "So where shall we meet? [X] is convenient for me โ how about [meeting point]?" This two-part question + suggestion structure drives logistics conversations naturally forward.
Conversations in Action
Conversation 1 โ Coordinating where to meet
(Let's eat together this weekend! Where shall we meet?)
(I'll be taking Line 2, so the area in front of Hongdae Station is convenient for me.)
A: ์ข์์. (Good. In front of which exit?)
(Let's meet in front of Exit 9. If I arrive first, I'll contact you.)
Conversation 2 โ Handling who goes where
(Shall we go together or separately?)
(I think I'll be a little late, so it might be better to go separately.)
(Then I'll go ahead and get a seat. Contact me when you arrive.)
(Okay, got it. I think I'll arrive in about 30 minutes.)
๐ Cultural Note โ Korean Meetup Logistics
Koreans are very specific about meeting points. Rather than "let's meet at Hongdae," they say
๊ตฌ์ญ 9๋ฒ ์ถ๊ตฌ ์ (in front of Exit 9 of Hongdae Station). Subway exits are the most common meeting landmark in Korea. (I'll go ahead and get a seat) is a common, considerate offer โ arriving first to hold a spot is a small but meaningful social gesture.

For a natural logistics conversation, cover these four points in order: (1) Where โ ์ด๋์ ๋ง๋ ๊น์?, (2) How to get there โ ์ด๋ป๊ฒ ๊ฐ ๊ฑฐ์์?, (3) Together or separate โ ๊ฐ์ด ๊ฐ์ ์๋๋ฉด ๋ฐ๋ก ๊ฐ์?, (4) On-arrival plan โ ๋์ฐฉํ๋ฉด ์ฐ๋ฝํ ๊ฒ์. This sequence mirrors how Koreans actually coordinate in real life.

Pitfall
Don't say ์ด๋์ ๋ง๋์? when making a suggestion โ this asks what the other person thinks. Use ์ด๋์ ๋ง๋ ๊น์? (where shall we meet? โ open question) or [location]์์ ๋ง๋์ (let's meet at [location] โ direct suggestion). Mixing these up can create confusion about who's deciding.
