Pitfall: ~됐을까요 vs. ~됐을까요?

어떻게 됐어요? = What happened? (asking about real past). 어떻게 됐을까요? = What would have happened? (speculating about a hypothetical past). The difference is ~을까요 — this marks speculative wondering, not factual inquiry. Don't drop it when discussing alternative histories!

Grammar Tip: ~겠죠 in Counterfactuals

지금 이렇게 못 했겠죠 = "I probably wouldn't be able to do this now, right?" ~겠죠 (겠지요) in counterfactuals adds a sense of shared understanding — the speaker thinks the listener would agree with the speculation. It's softer than just ~을 거예요 and invites implicit agreement from the other person.
