Describing an Interesting Person
Learn to describe someone's personality, qualities, and what makes them stand out β in natural, vivid Korean.
Iru Helper Note
In Korean, describing a person goes beyond μΉμ ν΄μ (kind) or μ¬λ―Έμμ΄μ (fun). To sound natural, you add why: ~μ΄μ κ·Έλ°μ§ (maybe because of ~) or ~λ νΈμ΄μμ (tends to be ~). The most impressive structure: κ·Έ μ¬λμ [quality]ν νΈμΈλ°, [specific behavior]κ±°λ μ (That person tends to be [quality], and in fact [specific thing they do], you see.)
μ μΉκ΅¬λ λ
νΉν νΈμΈλ°, νμ λ¨λ€λ₯Έ μκ°μΌλ‘ μΈμμ λ΄μ. κ·Έλμ κ°μ΄ μμΌλ©΄ μκ·Ήμ΄ λΌμ.
(My friend tends to be unique. They always look at the world from a different perspective. So being with them is stimulating.)
Β
π§βπ¨ What You'll Learn Today
Today you'll learn how to describe an interesting person in Korean with specific, vivid language. You'll use ~λ νΈμ΄μμ (tends to be ~), ~μ΄μ κ·Έλ°μ§ (maybe because of ~), and ~λ μ¬λμ΄μμ (is the kind of person who ~). These patterns let you go beyond basic adjectives and actually describe what makes someone compelling, unusual, or memorable to a Korean listener.

π Cultural Note β μ¬λ λ¬μ¬ (Describing People) in Korean
Koreans often describe interesting people in terms of μκ·Ή (stimulation) and λ°°μ (learning) β qualities that make you grow. Saying κ°μ΄ μμΌλ©΄ μκ·Ήμ΄ λΌμ is a high compliment, implying this person makes you want to be better. Also common: μλμ§κ° λμ³μ (overflows with energy), λΆμκΈ°κ° λ¬λΌμ (their vibe is different), 카리μ€λ§κ° μμ΄μ (has charisma). These feel more natural than simply listing adjectives.
