고생했어요 [go-saeng-hae-sseo-yo] ("you worked hard / good job") and 푹 쉬세요 [puk swi-se-yo] ("rest well") are the standard send-off phrases at the end of a workday in Korean — much like "have a good evening" in English, but with extra warmth acknowledging effort. Use them with coworkers, friends, or family! 🛋️

⚠️ Pitfalls to Dodge

❌ Saying 피곤하다 in plain dictionary form when speaking → ✅ Use 피곤해요.

❌ Forgetting 고생했어요 when someone mentions a hard day — it can feel like you're ignoring their effort → ✅ Always acknowledge with 고생했어요 or 수고했어요.

❌ Using 쉬다 only for physical rest → ✅ It also covers mental relaxation (watching TV, doing nothing).

❌ Confusing 눕다 (lie down) with 자다 (sleep) — lying down doesn't always mean sleeping → ✅ 누워서 쉬어요 = "lie down and rest" (not necessarily sleep).
