🌏 Cultural Note — Korean Salon Culture

Korean hair salons are known for meticulous attention to detail. Stylists will often consult you at length before starting — 어떻게 해드릴까요? (How would you like it?) is always the first question. Showing a photo (사진 보여드릴게요) is completely normal and appreciated. Saying 너무 짧지 않게 해 주세요 (don't make it too short) early is a wise move. Koreans also often request specific centimeters rather than vague descriptions like "a little off."

Pitfall: 층을 넣다 vs. 빼다

층을 넣어 주세요 = ADD layers (more texture). 층을 빼 주세요 = REMOVE layers (flatter, smoother). These are opposite requests. Confusing them gives you the exact opposite of what you wanted!
